ARRL Field Day

Field Day is an “all hands on deck” event for the EAWA, with a focus on participants and visitors. We start with set up on Friday, and then full operation during the allowed hours. We typically have 4 stations, running CW (Morse Code), SSB (voice/phone), satellite/digital, and GOTA (Get On The Air). Watch the front page of this site for announcements as we get closer to the event date.

Communications for the MDI Marathon

Held every October

Unlike the other EAWA events where all are welcomed to attend, organizing the communications network for the marathon requires prior arrangements. The club generally begins preparations in August. If you are interested in shadowing a club member or participating, please let us know early in the process.

Fall/Winter Weekend Sessions, October – March

Twice Monthly starting at Noon

Weekend Sessions are held on either Saturday or Sunday, at the Meadow View Phase 4 Community Room at 25 Tweedie Lane in Ellsworth. (See the map above.) The sessions start at noon and typically lasting a couple of hours. Some people bring hardware or software configuration projects or problems, while others may be troubleshooting a rig. Both HF and VHF/UHF antennas are available on site, as well as hams willing to help. Most important to know is that you don’t need to bring a project or problem. You are welcome to come and socialize.

The 2024-2025 schedule will be posted here once the dates are set.
