Fall/Winter Weekend Sessions
Weekend Sessions begin at noon at the Meadow View Phase 4 Community Room at 25 Tweedie Lane in Ellsworth. (See the map above.) Sessions typically last a couple of hours, and people come and go during that time. EAWA members and friends bring items (hardware and software) they are working on, often for ideas on set-up or troubleshooting. Some people bring radio-related things to show off or share with others. Often people have prearranged to meet up at a Weekend Session to get help with equipment. People also come to socialize, hang out, and see what others are doing.
Remaining dates for the Weekend Sessions, Starting at Noon:
December 14 (December Club Meeting & Holiday Pot Luck Social)
January 11 and 25
February 8 and 22
March 8 and 22
April 12 and 26
Emergency Communications for Local Races
Currently:
Sea of Blue Walk/5K/10K, April 25, 2026
MDI Marathon & Half-Marathon, October 18, 2026
Unlike the other EAWA events where all are welcomed to attend, organizing the emergency communications (EmComms) network for local races requires prior arrangements. The club generally begins preparations two months prior to a race. If you are interested in shadowing a club member or participating, please let us know early in the process by contacting Barbara KC1SSY or sending a message through the Contact Us on this website.
Annual Ham Radio Symposium
2026 Date TBA
Each April the EAWA hosts an afternoon of ham radio presentations at the same location as our monthly meetings. (See the map above.) Each year has a unique theme. There are presentations and often live demonstrations. The Symposiums include door prizes and refreshments. All are welcome to attend. Admission is by donation, small or large. Proceeds will benefit the host facility. The events take place at Meadow View Apartments Phase IV Dining Hall (see map for club meetings, above). See summary of the 2025 Symposium here:

ARRL Field Day
June 27-28, 2026
Field Day is an “all hands on deck” event for the EAWA, with a focus on participants and visitors. We start with set up on Friday, and then full operation during the allowed hours. We typically have 4 stations, running CW (Morse Code), SSB (voice/phone), satellite/digital, and GOTA (Get On The Air). Watch the front page of this site for announcements as we get closer to the event date. ARRL Field Day is held the 4th full weekend in June.
